3415098 - Multiple Same Serial ID of Registered Products Not Working in OVS Inside Opportunity

You are adding a registered product to an opportunity using a serial ID, however the one selected is not related to the account of the opportunity.

SAP Cloud for Customer

1. Go to the Sales work center.
2. Open the Opportunities work center view.
3. Open opportunity ABC (where ABC is the ID of an opportunity).
4. Go to the Registered Products facet.
5. Click in the Add button.
6. Select 'Registered Product' in the Entry type field.
7. Type DEF in the Serial ID field (where DEF is the Serial ID of the registered product you want to add) and notice DEF is a registered product of Account GHI (where GHI is the Account of opportunity ABC).
8. Click in Add.
9. You notice KLM added as registered product (where KLM is another registered product with same serial ID DEF).

The OVS on Serial ID works in a non-deterministic way if a non-unique serial ID (used for various products) is used.

This is the system current standard behavior. As a workaround you may:

1. Go to the Sales work center.
2. Open the Opportunities work center view.
3. Open opportunity ABC (where ABC is the ID of an opportunity).
4. Go to the Registered Products facet.
5. Click in the Profile menu and select Start Adaptation
6. Click in the "Add" button.
7. Select Registered Product as Entry Type.
8. Right Click in the pencil icon below Registered Product label.
9. Click in the right arrow icon of the Section in the right menu.
10. Click in the right arrow icon of the Product field.
11. Check the 'Personalize' and the 'set as visible' flags.
12. Go back.
13. Click in the right arrow icon of the Installation Point field.
14. Check the 'Personalize' and the 'set as visible' flags.
15. Click in the Profile menu and select End Adaptation.
16. Refresh the screen.

This way, you enabled the fields "Installation Point" and "Product" in the OVS for the registered product, so afterwards you can simply use the "Installation Point" as Entry Type in the "Add" dialog (instead of the registered product). If you enter there the DEF you get the correct product selected. The "Installation Point" is the unique identifier.
