3415158 - Absence recording within flextime bandwidth shows unwanted error with collision config

The new functionality "Allow Absence Requesting Within Flextime Bandwidth" raised error message for collusion grouping.

"The total absence duration is more than the planned duration of X hours. Please adjust the start and end time accordingly."

• There are 2 time types Vacation and Sick leave both have recording within flextime bandwidth enabled.
• Add a collision configuration such that when a sick leave is created over the vacation, then split and delimit occurs. 
• When creating a sick leave over vacation, a validation error is raised as below.

Expected Behaviour

• the error should not be raised in this case as its a full day absence as there are no start and end times recorded. Only the warning should be displayed.

This error is only occurring if you try to create/ edit an absence with an time type that has the "Allow Absence Requesting Within Flextime Bandwidth"-Flag in place, as the error message is the result of a validation check that has been introduced with this feature.

It appears when you try to book an absence on a day where another absence is already in place. E.g.: in this case the you are trying to book a Sickness absence during an existing vacation.

The correction will come in 2405. We suggest checking the what's new release for TIM-42279 for this correction

Workaround:  

1. Switch off the feature. OR

2. The existing absence has to be cancelled manually before requesting the new absence

   So if you plan to use "Allow Absence Requesting Within Flextime Bandwidth" do not use this in tandem with other absences.
   if you are faced with this error, as a workaround the existing absence has to be cancelled manually before requesting the new absence.
