3415167 - SNC connection with user and password fails with Logon data incomplete error

Symptom

When a JCo (Java Connector) connection is configured to use Secure Network Communication (SNC) and includes user and password properties, the connection attempt fails with one of the following errors:

  • JCO_ERROR_LOGON_FAILURE: Logon data incomplete. (Remote shortdump: CALL_FUNCTION_SIGNON_INCOMPL in system [<SID>])

  • Or, depending on the backend system configuration:
    JCO_ERROR_COMMUNICATION: Establishing connection to communication partner failed with error: 00024 error during logon
