3415601 - Unable to Assign Profit Center while Creating Free Cost Object

You wanted to create Free Cost Objects. You are not able to assign the New Cost Object to a profit center as the value help shows No records found.

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to the Cost and Revenue work center.
2. Go to the Free Cost Object view.
3. Enter the mandatory data and Choose a Company.
4. Click on Add Row and Enter Valid From and Valid To dates.
5. Select the value help on Profit center and List is empty.
6. Message shows No records found.

The reason is that Profit Center is not valid at the time of creating free cost object. You can check the Profit Center validity in the below steps:

1. Go to the Organizational Management work center.
2. Go to the Org Structures view.
3. Click on Edit tab.
4. Find the Profit Center PQR (PQR represents the Profit Center name).
5. Select Profit Center and go to Timelines tab.
6. Profit Center is showing the correct validity (Ex: 28.05.2023) and which is valid at the time of creating Free cost objects.

We have verified the Org Structure and Company 10000 is valid from 28.05.2023 and as well as Profit center. Profit Center is not valid as of 01.01.2023 and validity is maintained from 28.05.2023 and hence, system was not able to find the Profit center.

You need to maintain the correct validity of the profit centers for the respective company.

You can maintain as per the below steps:

1. Go to the Organizational Management work center.
2. Go to the Org Structures view.
3. Click on Edit tab.
4. Find the Profit Center PQR (PQR represents the Profit Center name).
5. Select Profit Center and choose Timelines tab.
6. Maintain the validity from DD.MM.YYYY(ex: 30.04.2023).

Now you are able to create Free cost objects without any error.
