3416110 - Resizing Persistent Memory on HANA System

Symptom

You wish to adjust the PMEM on your HANA system. You are unable to adjust this manually, so you wish to delete your PMEM and recreate it with a more suitable size.

For example, the NVDIMM is mounted as a filesystem in the server (/mnt/pmem0)

alex.sap@testserverdb:/mnt/pmem0> df -h .
Filesystem      Size  Used Avail Use% Mounted on
/dev/pmem0      246G   20G  227G   9% /mnt/pmem0

You want to know if you stop HANA and recreate the NVDIMM, will HANA automatically recreate the content of /mnt/pmem0/mnt0001 upon startup?

Is there any need to backup/restore the content of /mnt/pmem0?
