3416212 - Error - 'Payment method Credit card only permitted for debit advices' occurred while creating a Bank payment advice.

When you are trying to create a Bank Payment Advice, the system does not allow the Credit Card Payment method for the Bank Credit Advice type (with the Posting Advice option selected).
Furthermore with this option selected, it is not possible to select a Payment Method for the Bank Debit Advice type.

SAP Business By Design.

1) Go to Liquidity Management work center.

2) Go to New Bank Payment Advice sub view.

3) Give all the required details and Payment method as Credit Card.

You will see the error message as below,

"Payment method Credit card only permitted for debit advices".

As per the error you are trying to give a Payment Method as Credit Card for the Bank Credit Advice which is not correct.

For example the 'Bank Transfer' is not permitted for Debit Advices. You will note that if the Payment Advice is a Credit Advice, then 'Bank Transfer' is present in the payment dropdown. But if it is a Debit Advice the payment method dropdown updates to display the permitted methods.

The system behaving as expected. For Bank Credit Advice you should try to go with Bank Transfer/Check/Wire Transfer.

Hence it is not relevant to select the Payment Method as Credit Card for Bank Credit Advice.

Note: If the advice represents an existing payment, select the Posting Advice checkbox to create the associated postings in accounting. If you do not select the checkbox, the advice is considered as notice of a future payment and the system does not create any postings in accounting.
