3416982 - How to understand "Only One Relationship" in Business Configuration

This KBA explains the operation of the 'Only One Relationship' flag/checkbox in the Business Configuration which is related to allowing  a maximum of one relationship for specific business partners.

Checkbox Verification Mechanism

The system implements a verification process during the creation or modification of a relationship based on the designated Relationship RoleCode. However, this verification does not occur during the flag toggling process within Business Configuration.

Backend Validation

Once the aforementioned flag/checkbox is activated, the backend validation comes into force. Any violations post-activation will prompt the system to trigger an error message.

Resolution of Pre-existing Data Issues

In order to resolve issues of duplicate relationships with pre-existing data, it is suggested to delete the current relationship.
