Resolution
- SAP Sales Cloud and SAP Service Cloud Version 2 is API Driven application built using Microservices.
- While Cloud for Customer / C4C V1 offered different types of SOAP(A2X) & REST(OData) APIs - in V2, every entity(BO/Business Object in C4C V1 like Opportunity / Registered Product etc) has its own REST API using which you can create or modify the data.
- However all APIs are not yet available for external consumption - please check the link to access the released APIs.
- API Specifications, supported authentication methods, configuration details are available in the above mentioned link.
- At this moment, you cannot create Communication Configuration / Arrangement for these APIs, so you can use only Business users to consume these APIs.
- It is suggested to create a dedicated business user and a dedicated business role for API usage in-order to avoid unforeseen issues related to creation/change identity of data.
- These REST API calls are not captured in the message monitoring. These are synchronous API calls and the response from v2 will be sent back to source system whether it a success or failure.
- Message monitoring stores the replication messages asynchronously transferred between v2 & CPI because the replication is automatic and the payload needs to be captured for data review for all practical reasons.
