Resolution
There are three types of users in SAP Sales Cloud and Service Cloud version 2.
- Business User : Business Users are created for existing Employees so that they can login to the tenant and perform necessary actions. Business Roles can be assigned to these business users according to their job role. Business roles can be customized according to Business needs.
- Technical User : Technical Users cannot be created manually. Initial User which is offered during the tenant provision is automatically created with default business role which cannot be edited. Creating a communication system and adding user credentials to it also creates a technical user with default business role which again cannot be edited. Only services which can be added to communication configuration can be accessed via the technical / communication system user. As the REST APIs cannot be added to communication configuration, you cannot consume them using Technical User.
- API User : This is a type of technical user which can be created under Settings >> Users >> Technical Users >> Click on "+" button. You can create and add a Technical Role to this user on which you can enable access to apps and services of your choice.
