3417277 - The empty ID cells are still imported when check option "Fill empty ID cells with the "#" value" in the existing import data job in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)

Symptom

When refresh the existing import data job with method "Clean and replace the selected version data" and without option "Fill empty ID cells with the "#" value", the existing empty cells in the model which has value "#" are not removed. 

Environment

  • SAP Analytics Cloud (Enterprise)

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Login to SAC.
  2. Open the model.
  3. Go to data management work space.
  4. Select the first import job "Query", check the import settings, note that the option "Fill empty ID cells with the "#" value" is not checked.
  5. And the import method is "Clean and replace the selected version data".
  6. The expected result is that the empty data in the model will be removed and only non empty cells are imported.
  7. But the actual result is that the cell with "#" still exists in the model and notice that empty cells are imported.

Cause

The issue is caused by a defect in the product.

Resolution

  • The issue is fixed in a future** version of SAP Analytics Cloud.

** in version 2024.2.6 for customers on a bi-weekly (fast track) release cycle.
** in Q1 for customers on a Quarterly release cycle (QRC).
