3418179 - Exclude Operator for a range is not available in Filters of Data Analyzer

Symptom

In Filters of Data Analyzer ,you find that there are Operators such as "Between”, “Greater than" but the "Exclude" operator is not available.

Environment

SAP Analytics Cloud 1.0

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Create a filter for a dimension or measure in Data Analyzer.
  2. Try to set filter by Range.
  3. There are Operators such as "Between”, “Greater than" but the "Exclude" operator is not available.

Cause

Exclude operators are not supported here as Exclude ranges are often too confusing for users. For example: imagine a range combination of “not between 10 and 20” + “not between 30 and 40” which will result in just all members because both ranges are concatenated with an OR. Then members like “15” won’t match the 1st range definition but the 2nd one.

Resolution

This is not supported for now.

Please use the operator "between" to set your value ranges in the way of including instead of excluding.
