Symptom
- Error: 'Logon failed."
- When attemptying to connect the sample OData source in Crystal Reports 2020 with Support Pack 03, or higher, with no authentication required, it fails with the error:
"Logon failed.
Details: https://services.odata.org/V4/Northwind/Northwind.svc/$metadata"
Note: The URL above is a Public sample OData service.
- In Crystal Reports 2020 with Support Pack 02, can successfully connect to the same OData source.

Reproducing the Issue

Start Crystal Reports 2020 with Support Pack 03, or higher.

Create a new report.

In the Database Expert, expand: "Create New Connection"

Double click on: "OData"
- In "OData", enter the Service root URL. For example, enter the Northwind sample data source:
https://services.odata.org/V4/Northwind/Northwind.svc/
- Click: "Finish"
- Crystal Reports display the error: "Logon failed."
Cause
- Product defect.
Resolution
- The issue is resolved in the following product update, and above:
- Crystal Reports 2020 - Support Pack 04 - Patch 6
