Symptom
When trying to initiate CPQ, all users encounter the error: "Quote could not be created due to communication error. See the Log for more details", with the logs indicating a 401 unauthorized code. The problem occurs when attempting to either creating a new quote or accessing a previously created quote.
Environment
SAP SALES CLOUD CPQ integrated with SAP CLOUD FOR CUSTOMER
Reproducing the Issue
- Sign into the portal.
- Authenticate through Single Sign-On (SSO) to access C4C.
- Within C4C, create a new opportunity.
- Navigate to the "Sales Documents" section and click on "New" to initiate the creation of a Sales Quote in CPQ.
- Check the logs on CPQ and CPI.
Resolution
Verify whether any user credentials have expired or are incorrect. Additionally, check if there have been any modifications to general authorization settings.
