3418810 - CPP2 / QPP2 are calculated before YMPE is reached

Symptom

Scenario 1: System deducts CPP / QPP Second Contributions (/316 or /317) before YMPE (a.k.a Maximum annual pensionable earnings) is reached.

Scenario 2: When running retroactive payroll, user sees that system is refunding CPP or QPP contributions.

This happens after maintaining one of below indicators in Infotype 464 (Additional Tax Data CA):

  • CPP 'U' - Aged 65-70 and CPT form filled

  • QPP 'U' - Aged 65-73 and RR-50 filled

*similar scenarios can occur for other CPP exempt scenarios.
