3419686 - The User Gets The Error: “You don’t have permission to modify MS Teams integrated appointments.”

Symptom

The user gets the error: “You don’t have permission to modify MS Teams integrated appointments.”

Environment

SAP Cloud for Customer

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Create an appointment that has been associated with Microsoft Teams.
  2. Try to update the appointment and save and see the issue.

Cause

The consent can get outdated after upgrades, and it needs to be reset.

Resolution

Please take a look at this table - there is an option that user, even as an Organizer, cannot edit such appointment when he/she doesn't have User Delegation permission: Help portal

So please take a look (or your administrator) if you have this option 'User Delegation' enabled: Grant consents for Microsoft Teams integration

Note, ensure that you have the Microsoft Office 365 exchange online license.
  1. Navigate to Administrator >  General Settings.

  2. Under Microsoft Teams, click Enable Microsoft Teams integration.

  3. Choose any of the following permission types and click Confirm.

    • Application Delegation: Your administrator must consent on behalf of all the users.

    • User Delegation: Your administrator must consent on behalf of your organization.

If you're using the features such as Appointments, Visits, Share Workspace, and Deal Rooms with user delegated permission, the system shows a window where you must allow the permissions and login to your Microsoft Teams account. The system doesn't show the window for permission if you try to edit Appointment or Visit from dataset view. The validity of this permission is 30 days. Hence, you must allow the permissions and login to Microsoft Teams again when the permission expires.

Note, If you want to change the selected permission type after enabling the Microsoft Teams integration, you must raise a ticket.

This redirects to the Microsoft Teams authentication page.

  4. Sign in with your Microsoft 365 username and password.

A new window opens for consent.

  5. In the case of User Delegation permission type, your administrator has to select the checkbox Consent on behalf of your organization available at the end of all the permissions listed.

  6. Click Accept.
