3420279 - Error "Country/Region is a required field" when candidates apply for a job - Recruiting Management

Symptom

  • Candidates receive an error "Country/Region is a required field" when applying for a job.
  • Despite selecting a country/region, candidates are unable to proceed with the job application.

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting Management

Cause

The English US label for the country/region name does not follow the convention in the Official Country/Region List.

Resolution

  1. Navigate to the Picklist Center.
  2. Search for the picklist id "country" and open it.
  3. Locate the country/region selected by the candidate and click to edit it.
  4. Click the globe icon to edit the translation.
  5. Update the US English label based on the Official Country/Region List.

Here is the official list of country/region labels to be used for the standard picklist "country" - Country/Region List to Add a Country Name in U.S English Locale. When declaring a country/region, the English US label must follow this convention.

Both the uppercase and the lowercase of the short name are acceptable. We have provided the uppercase version in the list. To find the lowercase version of the short name, please refer to this link ISO 3166.
