Symptom
When a billing document is created from a preliminary billing document, the value of condition type PCIP is not copied from preliminary billing document to billing document.
Cause
In the sales order, the cost is generally taken from the valuation segment of the material master.
However, in the billing document, the cost can have other sources. Depending on the business transaction, for example, the costs can be determined from the goods issue, purchase orders, goods receipts, and invoice verification runs, etc.
These costs are handed over to pricing and included in the condition value of condition type PCIP.
If a preliminary billing document is created from sales order, the condition type cost (PCIP) can be determined from the goods issue, purchase orders, goods receipts, and invoice verification runs, etc. And then if a billing document is created from this preliminary billing document, the value of condition type cost (PCIP) is not copied but redetermined, that means the value of PCIP is retrieved from material master. This behavior is not as expected.
Resolution
If you need to use PCIP, please create billing documents directly from sales orders.
