3421436 - Synchronous GR process with EWM-QM

Symptom

This is the description of the use Synchronous Goods Receipt process with EWM Quality Management, where GR posted with transaction MIGO creates stock on EWM side without an EWM delivery involved.

  • Supported processes: Inspection after GR, Presampling, Sampling, Quality Certificates
    - It is possible to enable inspection planning only for Inspection after Goods Receipt process (inspection lot will be created after GR) and for Presampling in Production process (the inspection lot will be created before GR in this case). Moreover, Production scenarios can be combined with Inspection after Goods Receipt process (inspection lot will be created after GR).
    - Sampling process is supported for packed and unpacked stock, the sample quantity can be separated physically. However, in case stock is packed into Handling Units, only HU warehouse tasks are possible; therefore, always the whole HU is moved to the Quality area. It will not be broken up, even if it contains both the sample and the remaining quantity.
    - Quality Certificates in Synch. Goods Receipt posting function enables recording receipt of quality certificates in MIGO during synchronous GR receipt posting. Available since S/4HANA 2023 FPS2.

  • Unsupported processes:
    - Acceptance sampling,
    - Process Oriented Storage Control (POSC). As no warehouse request documents (e.g. inbound deliveries) are used, POSC is not supported. For POSC, warehouse request documents are needed for the determination of the process upon the HU creation. In POSC the HU keeps then the information on the process. The process is determined from the warehouse process type in the warehouse request item. As there is no warehouse request for synchronous goods movements, and with that there is not any determined warehouse process type upon HU creation, POSC cannot be supported.
    - In case the Goods Receipt is posted via Synchronous Goods Receipt during an STO process, inspection lots are not created in standard, therefore Quality Inspection of these stocks is not possible. See SAP Consulting Note 3284686 - Stock Transfer with EWM and Quality Management.
