3423221 - Custom Field cannot be published after enabling a SOAP usage

Symptom

  • After enabling a SOAP usage for a Custom Field, publishing fails.
  • Transaction SCFD_LOG shows the following the exception stack and errors:

CL_CFD_ENH_PROXY            CREATE                                             An exception was raised
CL_CFD_PROXY_ADAPTER    CREATE_PROXY_ENHANCEMENT    Creation of proxy object enhancement <ATO_prefix>_<XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX> failed
CL_PXN_PUBLIC_UTILS         CHECK_MDR_GEN_APPL                 namespace http://sap.com/Basis/CustomFields/Generated/<ATO_prefix> is not assigned to MDR-> creation as MDR proxy not possible
