3423420 - Scheduled WEBI Reports in BOBJ are not being delivered to email recipients when they are sent in Excel format, including special characters

Symptom

  • Webi Reports scheduled in Excel format are not delivered by email when the file contains any column on which the text contains "special characters";
  • Job schedule is successful but the recipients don’t receive the email;
  • BI users can receive the Excel file containing the special characters on their Inboxes (Inside BI);
  • When sending the file saved as .xls, using Outlook the behavior is as expected. SMTP is working ok;
  • The same Excel file without special characters can be scheduled and sent by email without any problem;
  • The same Webi Report exported as PDF or even in WBI format is scheduled and delivered by email successfully.
