Should I run the Migrate Brand to Marketing Brand on Job Requisition job as part of the Data Preparation tasks?
This job is marked as Optional in the list of tasks in Preparing Recruiting Data for the Career Site Builder Unified Data Model. (Step 2)
This job should in fact only be run when brands are already used pre UDM. A brand field must be configured in the requisition templates, populated in the existing requisitions and mapped to RMK in Setup RMK job field mapping.
Running the job without having any brands fields configured, populated and mapped to RMK is pointless as the job will not achieve anything and running it will simply result in errors.
Customers not already leveraging brands can simply skip this step.
If customers want to leverage brands after enabling UDM, they can of course do so by configuring and populating the new marketing brand field and object.
See Marketing Brand Generic Objects on Job Requisition and Configure the Standard Marketing Brand Field on Job Requisition Templates.
What does the job do?
As outlined on the page Migrate Brand Information to the Marketing Brand Generic Object on Job Requisition
The job looks at all the requisition templates. If a brand field is present in a requisition template and mapped to RMK in Setup RMK job field mapping then the migration job will mainly:
>Add the sfstd_marketingBrand_obj field and copy field attributes, permissions from the old brand field, localized labels, and descriptions.
>Copy the brand field data to the Marketing Brand Object.
What do the errors in the logs mean?
The main failure or skipped reasons are outlined on the page Migrate Brand Information to the Marketing Brand Generic Object on Job Requisition
The main reason for the job skipping templates is simply when there is no brand data for it to do anything with.
