Symptom
The user enters a GTIN in app "Manage Product Master Data" or EAN/UPC in app "Change Material" and receives error message WE223 "You have entered an invalid SAN".

Reproducing the Issue
- Open a Product in Manage Product Master Data.
- Enter a GTIN and GTIN Category.
- Save.
- Receive message WE223 "You have entered an invalid SAN".
OR
- Open a Material in Change Material.
- Enter an EAN/UPC and EAN Category.
- Save.
- Receive message WE223 "You have entered an invalid SAN".
Cause
Configuration.
Resolution
Ensure the GTIN / EAN number entered is within the configured number range.
- Check the External Number Range in SSCUI 103683 "Number Range Assign Number Ranges to Number Range Object - EUROPARTNR" for EAN Category used.
- In SSCUI 103680 "Define Number Ranges for EANs/UPCs" - click Display Intervals and check the Number Range from point 1.
- Ensure the GTIN / EAN entered is within this number range (also considering check digit).
