3425896 - Unable to install DS when using MSSQL with SSL Enabled as Repository Database- SAP Data Services

Symptom

  • It is not possible to install SAP Data Services using Microsoft SQL Server with SSL;
  • When trying to proceed with the Repository Configuration on Data Services Setup, it is returning the error below:

    "BODI-30006: Cannot open connection to the repository. The error message from the underlying DBMC is <ODBC Call <SQLDriverConnect> to connect database <DATABASE_NAME> failed with error <ODBC call <SQLDriverConnect> for data source <DATABASE_NAME> failed: <[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][DBNETLIB]SSL Security error [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][DBNETLIB]ConnectionOpen (SECDoClientHandshake()).> Notify customer support.> Use the ODBCDriverSelector (Windows) or DSConnectionManager.sh (Unix) utility in LINK_DIR/bin to configure the correct version of driver. If the problem still exists after selecting the correct version of the driver, notify customer support.>."

  • There is no MSSQL Driver on ODBCDriverSelector.exe (Windows) or DSConnectionManager.sh (Unix).
