Symptom
When confirming the supply to production task, you may observe that there are two lines shown for an input product. One line includes the source logistics area data, while the other does not. It is crucial to comprehend that the total planned quantity of both lines corresponds to the actual required quantity. This quantity is determined by the required quantity of the output product and the input product in the Bill of Materials (BoM).
Environment
SAP Business ByDesign
Reproducing the Issue
- Go to Production Control Work Center.
- Navigate to Task Control View.
- Search for the production task.
- Choose Confirm Button, then you will find the mentioned scenario in Line Items Tab.
Cause
A material flow rule has been set up for source determination rules at the site level. This rule automatically populates the source logistics area and actual quantity when confirming the supply task. Additionally, if the quantity in the source logistics area is not enough to fulfill the full planned quantity, a new line item is created for the remaining planned quantity of the product.
Resolution
This is the standard and expected behavior of the system.
