Your SAP Marketing Cloud solution issues the following system alert:

The system alert is issues for the following reasons:

The join cardinalities defined in SAP HANA calculation views become increasingly important with the latest SAP HANA revisions used by SAP Marketing Cloud. SAP HANA uses this information for pruning, which provides significant
performance improvements.

The challenge is that cardinalities that are not defined correctly in the views might result in incorrect result sets. Wrongly defined join cardinalities is incorrect segmentation results, affecting segmentation, target groups and campaign execution. Therefore, the entire standard content delivered with 2402 has been reworked and join cardinalities have been corrected in the standard views. 

Custom views are within customer responsibility. To avoid wrong segmentation results from your custom views (especially after the SAP Marketing Cloud 2402 upgrades with the new HANA revision), the reason may be incorrect join cardinalities. We therefore strongly recommend to check the join cardinalities in the custom views.

In the system alert a list of custom views is included. These views can be found in the app “Marketing Extensibility” – section “Custom View” – “ Export Table Definition / Import Custom View” and then in the app choose “Export View”.

The following show some typical examples of wrong join cardinalities:

• Text joins with cardinality 1:1 although n:1 is semantically correct, e.g. for contact-country to country-description the cardinality is n:1 (as one country-description will be applicable for multiple contacts)
• Left outer joins with cardinality 1:n although n:m is semantically correct, e.g. for product-categories to products the cardinality is n:m (as one product can be assigned to multiple product categories)

Please review your custom views accordingly.
