3427447 - Error "G/L account subtype cannot be changed because transaction data exists" is raised when trying to change the G/L account subtype.

When trying to change the G/L account subtype error "G/L account subtype cannot be changed because transaction data exists" is raised in app Manage G/L Account Master Data.

SAP S/4HANA Cloud

1. Go to App Manage G/L Account Master Data.
2. Select the G/L account and click on edit.
3. In edit mode change the G/L account subtype. Click on save.
4. Error "G/L account subtype cannot be changed because transaction data exists" is raised.

To change the G/L account subtype, the G/L account must have a zero balance and no postings in all your systems (development, test and production). Since postings already exist for the G/L account, subtype cannot be changed. If there are transactions or balances associated with the G/L account, changing its subtype could potentially lead to inconsistencies in financial records or reporting, and therefore, the change is forbidden.
