3428085 - Unable to Access BenefitFocus via SAP SuccessFactors

You wish to find out why an employe (may be a new employee also) cannot log into BenefitFocus by clicking on the Benefits tile.

An error similar to the following may be displayed:

Wrong configuration.

When SAP SuccessFactors Identity Provider is configured for member login using SSO to Benefitfocus Solution Extension, it uses a special identifier “BFSSOIdentifier” which is a combination of Employee’s Date of Birth and Social Security Number.


Possible Root Causes:

1. Either Date of Birth or National Id information for USA is not filled
2. More than one primary national Id exist for the employee in national Id portlet which is marked as “Is Primary=Yes”

During their time at a company, an employee may be transferred to another country (e.g. from India to the USA).

Possible solutions:

1. Check the employee data to see whether the DOB and National Id for USA is filled. 

2. The Admin user can try to delete the unwanted national ID via import employee data.

3. Should Option 2 not work, please reach out to SAP SuccessFactors Support (LOD-SF-INT-CPI-TPI) to try to delete all national id for the given user(s) via a compound delete in the DB. and customer can add the national id again.
