3428144 - Unable to delete Business Partner custom field in CPQ

Symptom

When trying to delete a Business Partner custom field, following error message occurs.

Error: "This business partner custom field can't be deleted because it's assigned to the following business partners:....”.

Environment

SAP SALES CLOUD CPQ

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Navigate to Setup

  2. Go to Business Partners

  3. Select Business Partner Fields

  4. In the Business Partner Custom Fields tab, locate the custom field you wish to delete

  5. Attempt to delete the field

  6. A popup appears displaying the mentioned error message.

Resolution

Please contact the SAP CPQ Support team and provide explicit approval to run a backend database query to delete the specified custom field.
