3428524 - Max Inventory Age 7300 Days in Report "Inventory Ageing"

Symptom

In standard report Inventory Ageing, there is unexpected inventory with max inventory age as 7300 days.

Environment

SAP Business ByDesign

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to work center Business Analytics.
  2. Access view Design Reports.
  3. Open standard report "Inventory Ageing" (SCMINVAGV04_Q0001).
  4. Enter ABC (ABC represents product ID) in Material, click Apply. In the result, we can see inventory with Max Inventory Age as 7300.
  5. However, check in another standard report "Confirmation Journal" (SCMCFJU01_Q0001), related confirmation DEF (DEF represent confirmation ID) was created several days before and with business transaction date on the same day.

Cause

Confirmation DEF is a transfer confirmation which results from Change of Stock but during which only product ID is changed. If inventory is added into warehouse by changing product ID during Change of Stock, report "Inventory Ageing" will not calculate its age but set it as 7300 days by default.

Resolution

This is system standard behavior.
