3428765 - ECO: ORA-04031: unable to allocate xxxx bytes of shared memory - SRS

Symptom

  • Heterogeneous replication to Oracle 9i through ExpressConnect for Oracle (ECO)

  • ECO DSI connection got shutdown with the following Oracle errors:

    • Message from server: Message: 4031, State 0, Severity 5 -- '[ statement ]
      [ <ECO> ] ociStmt::Execute ORA-04031: unable to allocate 40 bytes of shared memory ("shared pool","SELECT SUM(BYTES/1048576) FR...","SQLP","tmp")

  • After shutting down Oracle(to flush memory) and cycling Replication Server, the transactions begin to process until the errors occurs again.
