Symptom
- After adding a new node/host to the HANA scale out landscape, a table re-distribution fails for specific tables with the following errors in the indexserver trace :
Error allocating rows to parts:unexpected part index encountered for row position <>, target position <>
exception 71002048: fail to alter partition: [2593] Error during split/merge operation;exception 70002593: Repartitioning failed Step Split Main Fragment: Error allocating rows to parts;Unexpected part index encountered for row position 0, target partition ID
- Table definition typically looks something :
