3429304 - Cannot consume multiple views/datasets from Datasphere using OData Services Import connection in SAC

As there is no Standard Import Connection to Datasphere, customers need to use OData Services connection in order to import data from Datasphere for planning purposes.

There is a question about availability of Datasphere views/datasets when establishing an OData services connection in SAC: Is it possible to consume different views/datasets from DS using only one OData connection in SAC?

• The Service URL required to establish the connection provides access only to specified view exported through the URL.
• Customers may look for a generic URL which will grant access to all the view/datasets inside a particular space.

SAP Analytics Cloud 2023.21.16

1. Create an OData Services connection pointing to Datasphere view/dataset (Import Data Connection to OData Services | SAP Help Portal)
2. Go to create a model based on this connection
3. Note that you are not able to consume other DS views/datasets different from specified one in SAC connection

This is an expected behavior accordingly to how OData Services connection work.

There are 2 ways to consume data from Datasphere:

1. Live Data Connections to SAP Datasphere | SAP Help Portal
2. Import Data Connection to OData Services | SAP Help Portal

Method 1 allows you to see all available models while method 2 just allows you just accessing data from specified OData Service.

At this moment, there is no option to establish an Import Connection to Datasphere and see all models from there. You need to use Live Connection for this purpose.

As a way to continue improving the application, SAC team provides a way for customers to create Enhancement Requests. There you can add your idea/desire of having an Import connection to Datasphere that allows seeing all available services.
