Symptom
From Recruiting side, the Mail.ReadWrite permission is needed only in such cases where a customer has the need to attach files greater than 3MB (Resume, Cover Letter, Interview, etc) in the email invites sent to interviewers.
Can we make the Mail.ReadWrite application permission non-mandatory for both Outlook and Teams for Online Meetings and Teams for Online Meetings settings in WorkTech configuration page?
Environment
- SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite
- SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting
Reproducing the Issue
- Add application permissions to Microsoft Azure configurations to set up integration.
- Mail.ReadWrite is required, but only for cases where attached files are larger than 3MB.
Cause
In 2H 2023, the support for Microsoft integration with Recruiting for MS Outlook and MS Teams features was built via WorkTech. During this time, all application permissions needed for the integration to work were mandatorily validated at the time of making the connection with Microsoft Azure configurations. The Mail.ReadWrite is also being validated. However, on RCM's side this permission is needed only in such cases where a customer has the need to attach files greater than 3MB (Resume, Cover Letter, Interview, etc) in the email invites sent to interviewers.
Resolution
As part of the 1H 2024, the Mail.ReadWrite application permission has been made non-mandatory for both Outlook and Teams for Online Meetings and Teams for Online Meetings settings in WorkTech configuration page.
