Symptom

Not able to load Data Management workspace in the model in SAC.
Specific model affected.
Error while loading data sources: An unknown error has occurred. Try the operation again or refresh the browser. If you continue to see this error, please contact your Administrator.
Browser console log error: GET https://[sac tenant]/fpa/services/rest/fpa/asyncAcquisition?request=%7B%22action%22%3A%22getDatasourcesMappings; net::ERR_CONTENT_LENGTH_MISMATCH 200 (OK)

Environment

SAP Analytics Cloud (Enterprise)

Reproducing the Issue

Login to SAC.
Open existing model.
Try to switch to Data Management workspace: it will be greyed out and return error message:
- Error while loading data sources: An unknown error has occurred. Try the operation again or refresh the browser. If you continue to see this error, please contact your Administrator.
Observe that the datasource takes a long time to load and occasionally gives the "datasource_failed_to_load" error.

Cause

The failing model has a lot of data import jobs.
On the Data Management screen, it shows that there are more than 300 entries.
The amount of import jobs associated with the model would contribute to the total time needed to retrieve and download the content.
Most of the job entries were from local file upload in this case.

Resolution

Cleaning up the historical file upload job entries.
- Deleting the data import job entry from the Data Management page will not affect existing data inside the model. With that said, the import history associated with that job (when it was run and how many rows imported) will be removed together with the job.
- For jobs with recurring schedule, it makes sense to keep them. For other job that has no recurring schedule, perhaps it is not needed immediate or not needed anymore, so it can be cleaned up first and create later on only when needed.
If local file is to be used moving forward, a regular clean up of old job entries by the user should be done. Note: Currently there is no automatic clean up process for such job entries.
It is also recommended to explore using file server instead moving forward with local files, that we avoid proliferation of job entries as well as simplify the manual step.
