3430511 - Time recording with no Approval Required still being sent for approval

You create a Time Recording and is being sent for approval despite the Project configuration saying that for Time Recording No Approval is Required.

1. Go to the Home work center.
2. Select the Self-Services Overview view.
3. Click on Edit Time Sheet under Time.
4. Click on Add Row.
5. Enter the Project Task.
6. Enter the Activity.
7. Select the Time Type.
8. Click on Actions
9. Select Release.

See that the Status is In Approval.

In the header task the configuration No Approval Required there is some configuration on the Project Settings that made this Approval necessary.

The approval is required if:

• this is made for a Non-Listed Service, meaning the services listed on the Products tab.
• this is made for a Non–Team Member, meaning a person that is not part of the Project team listed on Team and Staffing tab.
• this is made Outside of Planned Period, meaning the planned period of the relevant work package. In case no period is planned for this work package, the planned period of the project task is considered instead.
• this Exceeds Planned Work, meaning this time will exceed the Planned Work established on Team and Staffing tab.

On the Basic Data for the header task you can define if a time recordings will be generally allowed, allowed with approval, or not allowed at all.

And in the Project Settings (this tab is only visible on the header task) you will be able to specified which configuration will be used by the system to create this approvals.
All other tasks for the Project will only have one Time Recording dropdown, but will follow the rules created on the Project Settings.
If you don't want to create an approval for this, you need to select No Approval Required for all the fields under Time Recording on Project Settings.
