3430837 - Cloud Foundry Postgres database instance suddenly becomes unreachable: Connection to postgres-<INSTANCE_ID>.<REGION>.rds.amazonaws.com:2306 refused.

Symptom

  • You are using SAP Business Technology Platform and a Postgres Database instance (on AWS Datacentre)
  • You can no longer reach the Postgres database instance due to an error similar to the below:
    <DATE_STAMP> [APP/PROC/WEB/0] STDOUT org.postgresql.util.PSQLException: Connection to postgres-<INSTANCE_ID>.<REGION>.rds.amazonaws.com:2306 refused. Check that the hostname and port are correct and that the postmaster is accepting TCP/IP connections.
