3430948 - SUM phase EHP_INCLUSION fails for systems using HP-UX: Import prerequisites are not fulfilled

Symptom

  • Software Update Manager (SUM) fails at the EHP_INCLUSION phase with this error message:
    • Unable to generate package queue, return Code = 3, Reason =
      "Package <package>: Import prerequisites are not fulfilled"
  • The operating system is HP-UX
  • Check the package extraction command in the ../SUM/abap/log/CAR.SAV file if you see similar corrupted characters:
    • EXECUTING ../SUM/abap/bin/SAPCAR -V -crl <download directory>/crlbag.p7s -tvf <download directory>/K-610BGINCPRXRPM.SAR
      SAPCAR: processing archive <download directory>/K-610BGINCPRXRPM.SAR (version 2.01)

  • Confirm the SAPCAR version that SUM is using on the O/S level using this command:
    • <path to SUM>/SUM/abap/bin/SAPCAR -v
      • Note: Please make sure you include the path to SUM otherwise the command will use the default SAPCAR program in your system's executable directory
    • The SAPCAR version being used is 753 PL1200 or lower
