3431494 - Connection failures in HTTP destinations in SM59 with hostnames longer than 100 characters

When performing a connection test in a HTTP destination (type H or G) in transaction SM59 for an ABAP system, a NIEHOST_UNKNOWN error is returned when the hostname contains more than 100 characters. It is perceived that the hostname is cut at the 101st character.

Another symptom might be that the ICM trace file (dev_icm) logs the message "SSSLERR_ALERT_UNRECOGNIZED_NAME".

A level 2 (or level 3) trace from the ICM shows the truncated hostname in the line that says "direct connect to [truncated target host]" or "proxy connect to [truncated target host]".
