3432057 - "The Application Encountered Navigation to an External Web Link that Could not be Validated" Error When Opening a Link

You have set up a link in SAP Business ByDesign (either via a custom solution or through URL attachment, for example), however when trying to open it from the UI, a popup error appears:

"Unsafe Navigation"

"The application encountered navigation to an external web link that could not be validated."

The issue is caused by special characters in the URL. For the URL validation, Business ByDesign only allows alphanumerical characters.

The system works as expected.

In order to navigate directly by clicking the URL, it needs to be adjusted to not contain special characters.

Note: Changing the special characters to their encoded version (for example, transforming "$" into "%24") will transform the URL from a link to pure text, which also cannot be validated and will cause the same error.
