Symptom
You are facing an incomplete calculation of the production lot in the WIP clearing run, you notice that the production lot was calculated twice, despite the production order being finished, leading to double calculation in subsequent WIP clearing run.
Environment
SAP Business ByDesign
Reproducing the Issue
- Go to Inventory Valuation work center.
- Go to WIP Clearing subview.
- Here we can see two run IDs: XYZ (XYZ represents the first run) and DEF (DEF represents the second run).
- Production lot is calculated twice - for example, first in WIP from 010.2023 and secondly in WIP 011.2023.
The production order was finished in 010.2023 - but there is just half of the posting done In 011.2023, it is again and completely calculated.
Cause
One possible reason for this behavior is because of the end date of the Production lot. Please check the example below:
Production End shows as 11.12.2023 08:36.
Execution Monitor:
Restart: 11.12.2023 08:36
Finish: 11.12.2023 08:36
I.e. previously cleared balances in 010.2023 will be reversed for 011.2023. The WIP Clearing would again clear the balances when run for 012.2023.
Similar logic as for GR/IR – if documents are canceled but have been cleared before. The Clearing will be reversed in the period when they happen to be open again.
To check the end date of the Production lot, please check the steps below:
- Go to Inventory Valuation work center.
- Go to Production Lots subview.
- Select "All Production Lots" option.
- Search for the desired production lot.
- Click "View" button > View All.
- Go to Execution Monitor, and here we can see all the details. We can also check in "General" tab.
Resolution
Expected system behavior.
