Symptom
When sending an offer letter, the email subject is grayed out or non-editable.
On the screen where you choose a recruiting email template, the subject doesn't reflect the email template subject or the subject translation as you change the Language dropdown.
Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental.

Reproducing the Issue
1. Open an application, then choose Take Action > Offer > Offer Letter
2. The first screen allows you to choose which Offer Letter template to use. Notice the value on subject field comes from the settings of Offer Letter template selected.
3. At the bottom of the page, click on Next Step button
4. The next screen gives you an offer letter preview. This is also where you choose which method to send the offer letter. Notice that the subject reflects the Offer Letter template selected from previous screen.
5. From the list of buttons / methods at the bottom of the page, choose Online Offer.
6. The next page is where you choose a recruiting email template to use. Notice that the email subject is grayed out and still displays the Offer Letter template subject.
If you change the recruiting email template dropdown, notice that the subject stays the same. Change the Language dropdown, the subject still reflects the Offer Letter template subject.
7. Click on Next and then Send button to proceed on sending the Offer Letter email. The candidate receives an email with subject reflecting the one from Offer Letter template.
This behavior wherein email subject uses the Offer Letter template subject is consistent on other sending methods: Online Offer, Email as text, Email as PDF attachment, Online Offer with eSignature
Cause
This behavior is working as expected. In Offer Letter feature, the Email Subject field is read-only by design since the feature was introduced. The system keeps the Offer Letter subject as Email Subject.
Email relates to the Offer Letter context; the system is designed to keep the Offer Letter subject as Email Subject for candidate.
Resolution
Modify the Offer Letter Template and ensure the subject reflects what you want the candidates to see in the email they will receive.
For subject translation, select the appropriate language on the first screen where you choose the Offer Letter Template.
