3434173 - Certificate chain is invalid error when uploading a key pair to Cloud Integration

Symptom

Uploading a key pair to Cloud Integration Keystore manually or via public API of Cloud Integration tenant via https://<tenant-id>.<XXXXXX>.<XXXXX>.<XXXXX>.hana.ondemand.com/api/v1/KeyPairResources fails due to error:

Certificate chain is invalid: CertificateCN=<XXXXXXXX>,O=<XXXXXXXX>,C=XX not within validity period

or

<error xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/ado/2007/08/dataservices/metadata">
<code>Bad Request</code>
<message xml:lang="en">Certificate chain is invalid: CertificateCN=<XXXXXXXX>,O=<XXXXXXXX>,C=XX not within validity period</message>
</error>

However, after checking the key pair to be uploaded and the referred (intermediate) certificate in the error , it is confirmed the validity is not expired.
