Environment
SAP Business ByDesign
Reproducing the Issue
- In the Tax Management work center go to the Manual Tax Entries view.
- Navigate to the VAT Entries sub-view.
- Press New and choose Tax Entry to create a new manual tax entry.
- In the New Manual Tax Entry screen maintain the partner company ID ABC in the Business Partner field.
- Enter all further relevant and mandatory data.
- Press Post.
- Access the newly generated journal entry.
- In the Journal Entry the Partner Company ID field or the Business Partner ID are not available.
Cause
The Business Partner field in Manual Tax Entries is not posting relevant. It is only used for reporting purposes.
In journal entries, the Business Partner ID is derived from the Debitor or Creditor ID for certain transactions (, such as Customer Invoice, Supplier Invoice). If the debitor or creditor happens to be a Partner Company then the Partner Company field will be filled.
Resolution
The information maintained in the Business Parter field of Manual Tax Entries can be derived in tax relevant reports.
For example: In the All VAT / Sales Tax Entries report the information displayed in the Customer/Supplier field is derived from the Business Partner field of a Manual Tax Entry.
