3434606 - Talent Intelligence Hub Edit Tags Error: Error System tag in external id cannot be created or updated.

Symptom

When trying to edit a tag in Talent Intelligence Hub, receive an error：

Error System tag in external id cannot be created or updated.

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Talent Intelligence Hub

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Log in to system
  2. Navigate to Admin Center > Tools > Manage Talent Intelligence Hub
  3. Select the Tags tab
  4. Select a tag > Select Edit
  5. Try to update the name, description, code, or translation > Save
  6. Receive error

Cause

The tag is a pre-defined tag provided by SuccessFactors

Resolution

The pre-defined tags provided by SuccessFactors (Core, Critical, and Trending) cannot be modified, as shown in the replication steps. More information is in Using Talent Intelligence Hub - Creating a Tag.
