3434663 - Error 10330 from reserve_identity() on a table in a different database - SAP ASE

Symptom

When built-in function reserve_identity() is called against a table in another database, a 10330 error may be reported with the wrong object and database names.

1> use db1
2> go
1> select reserve_identity("db3.dbo.T1",1)
2> go
Msg 10330, Level 14, State 1:
Server 'testase16', Line 1:
INSERT permission denied on object P2, database db1, owner dbo

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
NULL
