Symptom

How to create an import data connection to Microsoft OneDrive in SAC?

Environment

  • SAP Analytics Cloud (Enterprise)
  • SAP Integration Suite Open Connectors
  • Microsoft OneDrive

Resolution

Prerequisites

  1. SAC is hosted on a non-SAP data center (Cloud Foundry environment) and not located within China.
  2. Open Connectors is configured in SAC. If not configured, configuration steps can be found in the KBA 3435156 - How to configure SAP Integration Suite Open Connectors in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)

Procedures

  1. Login to Microsoft Azure home page https://azure.microsoft.com/.
  2. Click "Microsoft Entra ID" in the left navigation menu.
  3. Click Add button, in the dropdown list, select "App registration".
  4. In the App registration dialogue, enter the Name, select the Supported account type and enter the Redirect URI and click Register button.
    Note: Use the URL: https://bocauth.us1.sapbusinessobjects.cloud:443.
    Or if your SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) landscape is operating in European Union (EU) Access mode (for data protection within the EU), use https://bocauth.eu1.sapbusinessobjects.cloud/.
    For example,
  5. Select Certificates & secrets tab from the left menu, click on New client secret. 
  6. Then enter the description and select the expire time in the Add a client secret dialogue and click add button.
    Note down the secret value, which is the OAuth API Secret used to fill in SAC connection page:
  7. Click Overview in the left navigation menu, note down the Application (client) ID, which is the OAuth API Key used in the SAC connection page.
  8. In SAC, from the side navigation, choose  Connections   (Add Connection).
    The Select a data source dialog will appear.
  9. Select Microsoft OneDrive.
  10. Enter the Connection Name, Description, OAuth API Key (get from step 7), and OAuth API secret (get from step 6). For example:
  11. Click Create button, in the pop up dialogue, sign in to your Microsoft account.
  12. Check option "Consent on behalf of your organization" and click Accept button to approve the required rights.
  13. Connection is successfully created.
