3435573 - SAC - Can't copy/paste from excel to SAC Story from cells with "Accounting" format

Symptom

  • Users encounter an issue while copying/pasting data from Excel files to SAC stories.
  • The problem happens specifically when attempting to paste data from cells in Excel that have the "Accounting" format into SAC using the "Paste Overall Values Only" option in stories.

Environment

  • SAP ANALYTICS CLOUD

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Create SAC story that contains a table
  2. Copy value from Excel to the SAC table

-> Error occur: "Only numeric values can be pasted here. Please ensure that source and target cells are using the same number formatting."

Cause

This behavior works as designed

Resolution

The problem is the currency sign. Without it, it works if the Excel number format matches the SAC table number format.

The separator in Excel is a comma and in SAC it's a dot. To solve this they need to be the same.
