3435662 - Error "Profit center XXX is not defined for the entire period."

This KBA will guide you on how you can fix the issue for the error "Profit center XXX is not defined for the entire period."

SAP S/4HANA Cloud

1. Go to Manage Cost Centers app

2. Click on Create button

3. Fill all the details like Name, Valid From, Valid To & etc

4. When you enter/select the Profit Center you get the error "Profit center XXX is not defined for the entire period." as highlighted in the screenshot

Selected/Entered Profit Center validity is out of range from the Validity which you are selecting for the Cost Center creation.

Check the Validity of the Profit Center which you want to use for the creation of Cost Center, to check the validity of Profit Center you can follow the below steps:

 1. Go to Manage Profit Center App

 2. Search for the Profit Center ex: ABC is the Profit Center

 3. Here you will see Validity From: 01.01.2020 Valid To: 31.12.9999 as shown in the below screenshot

4. So, as you see in the steps to reproduce section, you have selected the Valid From: 01.01.1950 Valid To: 31.12.2099 for the Cost Center creation

To resolve the above error follow the below steps:

5. In order to use ABC Profit Center for the Cost Center creation, you need to adjust the Valid From: 01.01.1950 Valid To: 31.12.2099 for the Profit Center 

6. Once the changes are done Profit Center will be available for the selection and you can save the Cost Center without any issues.
