3435797 - 'Logon failed. SQL state 08001' error message appears when trying to connect to DB2 with SSL truststore from Crystal Reports 2020

Symptom

  • When trying to connect to DB2 with SSL truststore via JDBC connection from Crystal Reports 2020 SP3 Patch 7, the following error message appears:

    Logon failed.
    Details: SQL Exception: [SQL State:] 08001 [Error Message:]
    A communication error occurred during operations on the connection's underlying socket, socket input stream,
    or socket output stream. Error location: Reply.fill() -
    socketInputStream.read (-1). MEssage: Received fatal alert:
    handshake_failure. ERRORCODE=-449, SQLSTATE=08001 [Database
    Vendor Code: -4499 ]

  • It was working fine in Crystal Reports 2020 SP3 Patch 3 version.
  • Without SSL it is possible to connect to the database.
