Symptom
You set the posting periods in the app Manage Posting Periods. The first open posting period (normal posting period or adjustment posting period) is in fiscal year YYYY for a specific combination of company code and ledger.
However, there are still open fiscal years in depreciation areas of Asset Accounting before fiscal year YYYY.
This is not allowed. A fiscal year is to be closed first in Asset Accounting and then in General Ledger Accounting.
Therefore, the system issues error message FAA_CMP116 'First close the fiscal years before YYYY in FI-AA'.
Environment
SAP S/4HANA Cloud 2402 or a later release
Reproducing the Issue
See the 'Symptom' section above.
Resolution
Proceed as follows:
- General Ledger Accounting: In the app Manage Posting Periods, you (again) open the fiscal year that is still open in Asset Accounting (for example, fiscal year YYYY).
Alternatively, open either a normal posting period or an adjustment period in fiscal year YYYY that is still open in Asset Accounting. - Asset Accounting: You close the fiscal year YYYY in Asset Accounting.
To do this, you use the app Make Company Code Settings - Asset Accounting-Specific (F7312).
If errors occur, it may be necessary to recalculate and/or post depreciation.-
- To recalculate the depreciation, you use the job template Recalculate Depreciation from the app Schedule Asset Accounting Jobs.
- To post the depreciation, you use the job template Depreciation Posting Run from the app Schedule Asset Accounting Jobs.
-
- General Ledger Accounting: In the app Manage Posting Periods, you close the fiscal year YYYY again.
Note:
The rule that a fiscal year is to be closed first in Asset Accounting and then in General Ledger Accounting applied before release SAP S/4HANA 2402.
However, the check with error message FAA_CMP116 was introduced with the release upgrade to SAP S/4HANA 2402.
